Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Volkswagen/Audi Turbocharger Class Action Settlement about?
- The lawsuit alleges certain VW and Audi turbochargers failed prematurely due to defective wastegate components. Volkswagen denies wrongdoing but agreed to compensate owners and extend warranties.
- How much money can I get from the Volkswagen/Audi Turbocharger settlement?
- You may receive 40–50% of one qualifying repair invoice up to a $3,850 cap if the repair was done outside an authorized dealer, plus potential 50% warranty coverage on Generation 3 vehicles.
- Do I need proof to file a Volkswagen/Audi Turbocharger settlement claim?
- Yes. A detailed repair invoice and a signed declaration are required. Additional maintenance records may be needed if the invoice doesn’t state the cause of failure.
- Can I sell my car and still benefit?
- The reimbursement follows the person who paid for the repair. The warranty extension travels with the vehicle, so subsequent owners can benefit if time and mileage limits remain.
- When will I be paid?
- Checks will be issued within 150 days after your claim is received or 30 days after final approval takes effect—whichever occurs later.
