Background of the Case

The lawsuit (Wilson v. TransUnion LLC, No. 1:23-cv-00131-JPH-MJD) claimed TransUnion violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by continuing to supply consumer report data to third-party collectors after PRA instructed it to stop. TransUnion denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation risk and expense.
