If you live in the United States and received a notice that your personal information was involved in Simpson Strong-Tie’s October 2023 data breach, you could receive up to $5,000 in cash, reimbursement for lost time, and/or two years of free credit monitoring. Who’s Eligible?
- All U.S. residents who received a direct notice from Simpson Strong-Tie (or its representative) about the data security incident discovered on or about October 10 2023.
- Excludes Simpson Strong-Tie and its affiliates, the Court, and anyone who opts out by January 20 2026.

1. Expense & Lost-Time Reimbursement (up to $500)
- Documented out-of-pocket costs such as bank fees, postage, credit monitoring purchased after Oct 9 2023, and similar expenses.
- Up to four hours of self-reported lost time at $20/hour (no receipts required).
2. Extraordinary Expense Reimbursement (up to $5,000)
- For class members who suffered verified identity-theft losses directly linked to the breach.
- Must provide documentation and show reasonable efforts to obtain other reimbursement first.
3. Two Years of Triple-Bureau Credit Monitoring
- Daily credit monitoring with alerts.
- Identity-restoration services and up to $1 million in identity-theft insurance.
