Estimated Payments

Your individual share depends on:

  • Weeks and hours worked as a Reader
  • Total calls/sessions completed
  • Your earnings data
  • Court-approved deductions for attorneys’ fees (up to 25%), costs (up to $25k), and a $10k service payment to the class representative

Checks will be mailed automatically 30 days after final approval and a second time 120 days later—no claim form required.

1. Do Nothing (Recommended)

  • Receive your full settlement payment automatically
  • Release wage-and-hour claims against Kasamba covered by the case

2. Opt Out (by Dec 22, 2025)

  • Get no class payment (except the mandatory PAGA share)
  • Keep the right to sue Kasamba separately
  • Send a signed request by mail or email to class counsel

3. Object (by Dec 22, 2025)

  • Stay in the settlement but tell the Court what you oppose
  • Must file a written objection with the Court and copy class counsel

Why a Settlement?

The lawsuit alleges Kasamba misclassified Readers as independent contractors and failed to pay required wages and reimburse expenses under California law, including claims under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Kasamba denies wrongdoing. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid further litigation risk and expense.
