If you bought, received, or currently own a Shimano Ultegra or Dura-Ace crankset—or a bike equipped with one—manufactured before July 2019, you may qualify for cash reimbursement, an extended warranty, or free inspections. All U.S. individuals, businesses, and other legal entities (plus their successors, heirs, or assigns) that:
- Purchased, received, were given, or owned one of the designated Shimano cranksets below (not solely for resale); or
- Purchased, received, were given, or owned a bicycle equipped with one of the designated cranksets (not solely for resale).

- Ultegra FC-R8000
- Dura-Ace FC-9000
- Dura-Ace FC-R9100
- Dura-Ace FC-R9100-P
The crankset must have been manufactured before July 2019 and bear one of the production codes listed on the recall notice.
Available Benefits
- Extended Warranty – Express warranty coverage for bonding separation and delamination is automatically extended to July 29, 2027.
- Enhanced Inspections – Free in-store inspections at authorized Shimano retailers using new tools and procedures.
- Cost Reimbursement – Repayment of reasonable out-of-pocket costs to replace an affected crankset that separated or delaminated before Sept. 21, 2023 after its original express warranty expired.
Required Proof for Reimbursement
To claim cash payments, provide:
- Proof of original purchase (invoice, receipt, or photo of serial number/production code).
- Proof of replacement and installation costs (receipts, invoices, or other payment records).
If paperwork is unavailable, you may submit a sworn declaration included in the claim packet.
