Frequently Asked Questions

How much will I receive from the Mountaire Farms settlement?

Individual payments depend on your employment dates and payroll records. After deductions for fees and costs, the remaining fund is divided pro-rata among claimants.

Do I need proof to file a Mountaire Farms wage and hour claim?

In most cases, no additional proof is required. The settlement administrator already has payroll data and will calculate your share after you confirm your identity with the CPT ID and passcode.

What happens if I miss the October 1, 2025 deadline?

If you do not submit a claim or timely opt out, you will forfeit any payment but still be bound by the settlement’s release of claims.

Will the payment affect my taxes?

Yes. Half of each payment is treated as wages (with payroll tax withholding) and half as liquidated damages (reported on a Form 1099). Consult a tax professional with any questions.
