Why Is There a Settlement?

The lawsuit, Greenwald v. Integon General Insurance Corp. (Case No. 2:23-cv-4119-JHS), alleges Integon used an invalid policy provision to reduce UIM payouts by the tortfeasor’s bodily-injury coverage—contrary to Pennsylvania’s Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law. Integon denies wrongdoing but agreed to the $175,000 settlement to avoid further litigation costs and uncertainty.
