Holian Insulation and Chemtool Fire $5.5M Settlement
Illinois residents who owned or rented property within three miles of the Chemtool Manufacturing Plant in Rockton on June 14, 2021 could be entitled to a cash payment from Holian Insulation’s $5.5 million class action settlement. Awards will be distributed pro rata based on ownership status, distance from the plant and other factors. Submit your claim by October 13, 2025 to secure your share.
Who qualifies?
You are a class member if you meet all of the following:
- Were an Illinois citizen as of June 14, 2021, and
- Owned or rented residential or non-residential property within a three-mile radius of:
1165 Prairie Hill Road, Rockton, Illinois - Held that ownership or tenancy on June 14, 2021
Legal representatives may file on behalf of deceased or incapacitated persons with proof of authority.
How much can you receive?
Payments will be split among approved claimants after fees and costs are deducted. The amount you receive depends on:
- Number of valid claims filed
- Owner vs. tenant status
- Distance of the property from the plant
- Residential vs. non-residential property
- Number of people living at the property on June 14, 2021
