How Much Can You Get?

The net settlement fund will be divided equally among all valid claimants. Current estimates place individual payouts between $30 and $100, but the final amount depends on how many people file and court-approved deductions for fees, costs and service awards.

  • Enrollment dates
  • Preferred payment method (direct deposit, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, prepaid digital MasterCard, or paper check)

Why the Lawsuit Settled

Plaintiffs accused Google LLC of collecting and storing students’ biometric identifiers—specifically face and voice models—via its education platforms without the notice and consent required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). Google denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation risk.
