Giant Eagle $668,750 Employee Savings Plan ERISA Settlement

If you held money in the Giant Eagle Employee Savings Plan (or were a beneficiary/alternate payee) anytime between Aug. 23 2018 and Jul. 23 2025, you could receive a cash payment—automatically—from a $668,750 class action settlement. Read on for eligibility details, payment timelines and how to make sure you get your money.

Am I eligible?

You are part of the settlement class if you meet any of the following:

  • Participated in the Giant Eagle Inc. Employee Savings Plan at any time from Aug. 23 2018 through Jul. 23 2025.
  • Are the beneficiary of someone who participated during that period.
  • Are an alternate payee under a qualified domestic-relations order for a participant in that period.

How much will I receive?

After court-approved deductions (attorneys’ fees, costs, service award and administration costs), the net settlement fund will be divided pro-rata using each class member’s quarterly account balances during the class period.

  • Your individual share = (Total of your quarterly balances ÷ Total of all class members’ quarterly balances) × Net fund.
  • Minimum payment: $10. Any preliminary share below $10 will be rounded up.

Good news: Plan records will be used to calculate and distribute payments automatically.

Payment method

  • Current plan participants – funds will be deposited straight into your retirement account.
  • Former participants – a check will be mailed to your last known (or updated) address. Checks are valid for 180 days.
