Why Was There a Lawsuit?
Plaintiffs alleged Demandbase Inc. and InsideView Technologies Inc. used their names, contact details, job titles, education histories and other personal information in marketing databases without consent, violating right-of-publicity laws. The companies deny wrongdoing but agreed to a settlement to avoid further litigation costs. The deal also requires changes to how InsideView displays teaser profiles.
