Coinbase Dogecoin Sweepstakes $2.25M Class Action Settlement

Did you opt into Coinbase’s June 2021 Dogecoin sweepstakes and trade at least $100 in DOGE between June 3 – 10, 2021? You may automatically receive roughly $1–$17 from a $2.25 million class action settlement. No claim form is needed—review your eligibility below and prepare for payment.

Who Is Eligible?

You’re considered a class member if you meet all of the following:

  • Opted into the June 2021 Dogecoin sweepstakes sponsored by Coinbase.
  • Bought, sold, or traded Dogecoin on Coinbase’s website or mobile app totaling $100 USD or more between June 3 and June 10, 2021.

How Much Can I Receive?

After deducting court-approved fees and costs, the estimated net fund of $1.315 million will be shared pro rata among eligible class members, producing individual cash payments of about $1 to $17.

No Claim Form Required

Because Coinbase already holds the necessary transaction records, eligible members do not need to submit a claim. Payments will be sent automatically once the settlement becomes final:

  • Open Coinbase accounts: direct deposit into your Coinbase wallet.
  • Closed or inactive accounts: check mailed to the last address on file (as of June 17, 2025).

Why the Lawsuit Settled

Plaintiffs alleged Coinbase Inc. and Marden-Kane Inc. failed to properly disclose a free method of entry for the June 2021 Dogecoin sweepstakes, violating California consumer protection laws. Defendants deny wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.25 million resolution to avoid further litigation risk and expense.
