FDA Recall: TRUE METRIX Blood Glucose Meters (Lot KD0746)
Trividia Health has initiated a voluntary recall of 601 TRUE METRIX® blood glucose meters because some units may ship with defective LCD displays. A faulty screen can lead to misreadings—Check if your meter is affected.
Why Did the FDA Recall TRUE METRIX Blood Glucose Meters?
On October 7, 2025 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced that meters from lot KD0746 can display partial, missing or “ghosted” numbers. This screen defect can:
- Cause users to misinterpret blood-glucose values
- Delay critical treatment—especially during hypoglycemia episodes
- Reduce trust in self-monitoring data
No injuries have been reported, but Trividia Health is recalling the devices out of an abundance of caution.
How to Check Whether Your TRUE METRIX Meter Is Affected
- Inspect the box: Look for lot KD0746 on the side panel.
- Locate the serial number: It’s printed on the back of every TRUE METRIX® meter.
