Vitamin D Concerns: Why Breeder’s Edge & Shelter’s Choice Were Recalled

Vitamin D helps puppies absorb calcium and build strong bones. However, too little over time can lead to rickets and muscle weakness, while too much may cause vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, kidney calcification, and even death. After two puppy-rickets complaints and confirmatory laboratory testing, Revival Animal Health pulled the affected products from shelves.
