Salmonella Recall Alert: Fisher, Squirrel Brand, Southern Style Nuts & Good & Gather Snack Mixes
Immediate Action » If you purchased any Fisher, Southern Style Nuts, Squirrel Brand or Good & Gather snack mixes listed below, do not consume them. Verify the UPC and “Best By” dates, then return the product for a full refund or replacement.
Recall reason: Possible Salmonella contamination
John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. (JBSS) voluntarily recalled multiple nut and trail mixes after a dry-milk–based seasoning from a third-party supplier tested presumptive positive for Salmonella during follow-up sampling. No illnesses have been reported to date, but JBSS initiated the recall out of an abundance of caution.
Salmonella health risks
Infection often triggers fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps within 6–72 hours. Young children, older adults, and anyone with a weakened immune system face a higher risk of severe or even life-threatening complications.
