Ambriola, Locatelli & Boar’s Head Cheese Recall 2024: Listeria Risk, Lots & Refund Info
Quick take: Grated Pecorino Romano sold under Ambriola, Locatelli, Boar’s Head, Member’s Mark and Pinna between 11/03/25 – 11/20/25 may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Do not eat; discard or return for a full refund.
Why the cheeses were recalled for Listeria
During routine environmental sampling, The Ambriola Company’s West Caldwell, NJ facility detected Listeria monocytogenes on processing equipment. Out of an abundance of caution, the firm issued a voluntary recall covering multiple grated Pecorino Romano products. While no illnesses have been reported to date, Listeria infection can cause serious or fatal complications in young children, older adults, pregnant people and anyone with a weakened immune system.
